Candidates may bring their own accompanist but the Precentor and Director of Music must be informed soon after the audition times are sent out. As well as being first rate accompanists, their knowledge of the process allows them to steer the candidate calmly through the audition.

Music award holders have all or part of the cost of their individual music tuition covered throughout their period of study at Brunel. Students may apply from any locality, as distance is not a determining factor in allocating places on the Award Scheme. As the award will be given to students showing musical potential, no previous instrumental tuition will be necessary in order to apply.
