In 2001, nu metal reached its peak with albums like Staind’s Break the Cycle, P.O.D’s Satellite, Slipknot’s Iowa and Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory. New bands also emerged like Disturbed, Godsmack and Papa Roach, whose main label déhowever Infest turned a platinum hit. Korn’s long-awaited fifth album Untouchables, and Papa Roach’s second album Lovehatetragedy, didn’t sell as well as their earlier releases, while nu metal bands were performed more sometimes on rock radio stations and MTV began specializing in pop punk and emo.
Although male bands predominated publish-grunge, feminine solo artist Alanis Morissette’s 1995 album Jagged Little Pill, labelled as publish-grunge, also turned a multi-platinum hit. Post-grunge morphed through the late 1990s and early 2000s as bands like Creed, Nickelback, Shinedown, Seether, three Doors Down, and Puddle of Mudd emerged.
