Launched in the week of Earth Day 2021 , this year the Arts Foundation has teamed up with PRS Foundation to create a new music award. A choral award is made to an advanced singer who is not sufficiently advanced instrumentally to win a music scholarship or music exhibition. Apple today announced the winners of the third annual Apple Music Awards, recognising the best artists of 2021 and their influence on global culture. The winner will be awarded £4,000 and an exclusive opportunity to record a work especially composed by Sir Karl, to be aired on Classic FM. The runner-up will receive a prize of £1,000. Applicants will be asked to talk about themselves, their music, and how they would use the cash and development support available to further their career in music. Sound and Music run a range of artist development programmes, including New Voices, Adopt a Music Creator, and Composer-Curator. The average award size to date is £100, and the maximum amount of financial support applicants can request is £500 .
