Grunge remained largely a neighborhood phenomenon until 1991, when Nirvana’s album Nevermind grew to become an enormous success, containing the anthemic music “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. During 1991 and 1992, different grunge albums such as Pearl Jam’s Ten, Soundgarden’s Badmotorfinger and Alice in Chains’ Dirt, together with the Temple of the Dog album that includes members of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, grew to become among the many a hundred prime-selling albums.
