Music Network Teach Meets Online

We’re writing to let you know that Bradford Music Education Hub is subsidising the cost of Sing Up Membership for schools (worth up to £295 plus VAT). Creative Arts Camp is a 5-day non-residential course of creative operatic exploration at the Howard Opera Centre, Leeds. Together we will explore Oscar Wilde’s story of The Selfish Giant and produce our own creative response, looking at script writing, vocals, designing, directing, and performing.

The group, who have recently been renamed ‘In Good Company’ was founded by Dublin accordion player, Paula Hanley and London fiddler, Karen Ryan. Each group performance features a representation from the 80 female musicians and singers who are committed to the project, and accompaniment by former London Lasses pianist, Pete Quinn. Community Music Network

These Teach Meet sessions will offer support to specialist and non-specialist music teachers in the delivery of classroom music particularly in light of new Government guidance surrounding Covid-19. Niamh is a fiddle and viola player, composer, and former lead singer with Solas. A founding member of the Irish Memory Orchestra, she is one of the select few who can cross easily between classical and folk. Likewise with Séamus Mcguire, who brings all the richness of the viola to his traditional tunes and his sumptuous compositions for the West Ocean String Quartet and the band Buttons and Bows. The go-to guitarist of choice for so many musicians, Gerry O’Beirne brings to the trio his massive breadth of expertise in so many genres and a glorious voice to boot. Free Music Network Meetings

Launched in September 2012, the Network has attracted over 300 members from settings as diverse as arts organisations to community nurseries, as well as freelance music practitioners and Head Teachers. Regional Early Years Music networking events allow members to meet peers and experienced EY music practitioners, share practice with each other and pick up new tools, resources, songs and games to use in their own settings. The IBG draws from a bespoke, detailed and sophisticated database to inform its work and steer the agendas for its meetings.
